Two boys!!!... and a girl :)

From the part of the world where I come from people don’t mind asking obnoxious questions like “Two boys… they must be a handful” “Don’t you want a girl?” “Hope the baby in your tummy is a girl” “Thank heavens you got a girl after two boys”. People may think they are trying to be comfort and nice; no they are not! I actually want to scream at such people. I should retort with something wise and quick-witted but my tired, muddled, baby brain just can’t think quickly enough at times. I wonder what their reaction would be to “Yeah, the stork didn’t listen when I wanted to send them back!!!”

In as much as my boys are noisy, silly and run around with so much of energy from morning to night, they are affectionate, compassionate, funny and wonderful children. They are my boys and I love them to bits and I would never think of changing them for the world! Yes, I now have a little girl who is an absolute darling, but I would not have minded if she was also a boy. It’s great that the boys have a sister and we are thankful but it’s not for the world to judge how we feel about it.

My sons are wonderful together and they adore their little sister. Of course they fight and have world wars at times but they are each other’s best friend when it matters the most. We are raising them to be kind and considerate and nurturing a bond between them as they grow up. My boys and my girl are equally precious to me. The joy I feel at having three children is immense. That is all that matters, not their gender, their looks, and their size. Children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. I feel inspired every day to see, feel and hold mine. As they grow I will only love them more fiercely, so next time I hear such an ignorant comment…..I’ll be ready!
